Daithí Gormley, Dylan Foley & Orlaith McAuliffe, three of the most exciting and vibrant musicians of their generation with Paul Clesham on piano have been playing together in various combinations for many years.
From Ballintogher, Co Sligo, Daithí Gormley is regarded as one of the finest button accordion players of his generation. He has taught and performed at various festivals and Summer Schools nationally and internationally. A multiple All Ireland champion, Daithí was the winner of the prestigious All Ireland Senior Button Accordion competition in 2015. He has researched, published, and lectured extensively on Irish traditional music and is in high demand as an adjudicator, tutor, lecturer, and performer.
Dylan Foley, described as ‘one of the finest fiddlers of his generation’ four time all Ireland fiddle champion comes from New York City has being delighting audiences on both sides of the Atlantic for many years. Dylan is in high demand as a performer and teacher at many of the major festivals and music camps both nationally and internationally and has travelled as far as Vietnam promoting Irish music and culture. A member of ‘hot trad band’ the Yanks, Dylan has several acclaimed recordings to his credit.
Orlaith McAuliffe, winner of the prestigious TG4 Young Musician of the year award 2016 is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding musicians of her generation. Born in London to Kerry parents, Orlaith has a record breaking twenty all Ireland titles to her credit and is in constant demand as a performer and teacher all over the world. She is also a talented composer, her flute playing style is powerful and distinctive. Keeping them all in check is Mayo multi-instrumentalist Paul Clesham. A multi All Ireland champion, Paul holds senior titles for both piano accompaniment and concertina and has toured and performed extensively around the world. He is also a keen classical musician with broad interest across many musical genres. Playing spellbinding music with maturity and class well beyond their years, this is an unmissable quartet.
